Southern China
With a more temperate and humid climate, Southern China provides the traveler with a much different landscape and feeling from the North. China’s economic center located in Shanghai gives visitors a chance to see the country in all of it’s modern beauty. The city of Shenzhen also welcomes visitors as the first city in China to open itself up economically to the possibilities of capitalism. One of China’s ancient capitals, Nanjing, is also worthy of a visit. Most westerners who have heard of the Silk Road should also be familiar both with Hangzhou and Suzhou, both known as capitals of the Silk Trade. And if one wants to talk of scenery, the karst topography around the Guilin area is second to none. The sites of interest in Southern China are numerous and varied, appealing to those visitors interested in history, culture, and scenery. We will be adding more itineraries in the future involving Southern China’s highlights.
