Tai Chi

Learn Tai Chi With a Local Instructor

Tai Chi (太极拳)is one of the many branches of Wushu (武术). Originating from Henan about 300 years ago, Tai Chi is varied in its many forms. At first glance, many of the forms may appear similar, but after practicing, the participant can notice subtle differences in the forms. It is impossible for a tai chi student to get a true understanding of tai chi in one morning, but he/she can at least gain a greater appreciation of it by trying. Most tai chi practitioners can be seen in parks early in the morning. Chinreflection is in cooperation with a selection of instructors who practice their tai chi in the somewhat fresher morning air that the parks have to offer. Join us as we visit one of Beijing’s many parks to take part in a Tai Chi session.

Because China Reflection is devoted to low impact ecotourism, we have arranged our gathering points near metro stations for your convenience. Despite being overcrowded at times, Beijing has a safe and efficient metro system. By using this system, guests help to support public transportation, as well as having a chance to experience real Beijing from a more environmentally conscious viewpoint. From our meeting points we try to walk, ride bicycles or use public transport as much as possible to get to the final destination.
